As much as Kobe Bryant loves soccer, you probably won’t see him on the pitch anytime soon. However, “Mamba’s” latest signature shoe, the Nike Kobe VIII looks like it’s getting a futbol-inspired makeover. There’s no release date set for the Nike Kobe 8 Mambacurial just yet, but you better believe the Nike Mercurial-themed shoe will be on hot demand when it hits the retail shelves. As you can see from the above image, the upper on the Mambacurial is modeled after the Mercurial Vapor IX, along with an Electric Green translucent outsole to bring it all together. In terms of materials used and performance specs, everything remains the same at the standard Kobe 8.

A clear step away from flashy colours and graphics, the Whiteout collection presents our collection of cleats with a complete all-white look, giving the shoes a clean, stylish design. Players such as Manchester City’s Joe Hart and West Ham’s Andy Carroll will debut the cleats this weekend, both wearing the Whiteout Speciali 4 in their Premier League games until the end of the season.

Featuring the same combination of style and design innovation as the previous colourways of the Speciali 4, the Whiteout edition will look terrific on the pitch as the season concludes over the next few weeks.

Live from adidas Originals’ 2013 summer collection, the longtime shoemaker has set forth to revamp its mainstay Samba silhouette to pair nicely with a warm-weather wardrobe. The indoor football-inspired sneaker is set to be available in two base colors – blue and black – both of which feature neon green or yellow accents, respectively, at the heel and via the brand’s ubiquitous three stripes. Both colorways are now available online for €80 EUR (approximately $105 USD) each.

In 1998 Nike launched the first Nike Mercurial football boot, a shoe inspired by and designed for an athlete who was playing a brand of football that had never been seen before. The player was Brasilian football phenomenon Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, popularly dubbed “El Fenómeno,” but more commonly known as Ronaldo.

The tagline for the Nike Mercurial launch, “Ultralight, so your legs can be as fast as your imagination,” spoke to Ronaldo’s unparalleled creativity and speed. Ronaldo not only captured the imagination with his style, speed, skill and incredible eye for goal, but he also reignited the reputation of Brasilian football. His influence continues to this day as he guides the likes of Neymar on their attempts to follow in his footsteps.

Ronaldo is closely associated with the original silver-yellow-blue Nike Mercurial he wore in France during the summer of 1998. Among a field of black-and-white, the Nike Mercurial stood out for it’s sleek shape and speed-inspired visual design. To celebrate 15 years since the debut of that boot, Nike has created a Mercurial Vapor IX inspired by the 1998 design.
